Current Position:

I have taught at Jay Public School for 17 years.  Currently I am the 5th grade science teacher.  I have also taught 5th grade math and social studies.

Previous Position:

I started teaching in 1997 at Southwest City School in Southwest City, Missouri.  I taught 7th-8th grade algebra and science. I did not always want to be a teacher.  I, in fact, was attending law school when my Mom asked me to teach a children's class at church.  I was hesitant because I didn't think I was suited to teach children.  It turned out I enjoyed it so much that I switched from OU School of Law to NSU in order to get an education degree.  I have not regretted this decision one time.  Someone once asked me how I could give up a lucrative profession to teach.  I replied, "I do not get paid in money, rather I get paid with memorable moments.  Helping a child who is hurting or seeing the enthusiasm of a child learning is something that has no monetary equal."

Family Information:

I am blessed to be Hayden Daftari's Mom!  Here he is pictured at the top of the St. Louis Arch.  He and his classmates were selected to attend this science trip based off of academics and good behavior.  I am very proud of them!  Hayden is a Jay High School student and is proud to be a Bulldog!
