4th GRADE UPDATES

 

In 4th grade reading, the students will be bringing home a letter today with their spelling words and target vocabulary words.  We will be working on theme for our comprehension skill and we will analyze and evaluate for our comprehension strategy.

In math, we will explore fraction towers, making connections on how fractions are related, then we will use the fraction towers and fraction models to help us demonstrate our understanding.  

We will be concentrating on the Veteran's Assembly quite a bit this week.  If you or anyone in your family is a veteran, please let us know and come enjoy our assembly next Monday at 2:00 PM in the UE cafeteria.

 

 

Social Studies:  Students will commemorate Celebrate Freedom Week by reading the history of Veteran's Day and memorize the social contract section of the Declaration of Independence

Science:  This week in science we will be  beginning our study of growth and survival of plants and animals.

Writing:  Continuing our unit on informative writing, we are introducing the compare/contrast essay this week, while reviewing verbs.

Reading:  This week in Reading students need to be working on their Book in the Box Book Reports. Due Monday November 18.

Math:  This week in math we will simplify fractions.

5TH GRADE UPDATES

 

 

COMFORT CLOSET

MRS. DAVIS, 4TH GRADE TEACHER, DECIDED TO START A COMFORT CLOSET TO HELP STUDENTS IN NEED OF HYGIENE ITEMS.  STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO TAKE HOME ANY ITEMS THEY MAY NEED.  FOR MORE INFORMATION, OR TO DONATE, CONTACT MRS. DAVIS@SHAUNDADAVIS@JAYPS.ORG
