5th Grade Teacher
I graduated from Jay High School in 1979.
Graduated from Northeastern State University in 2012.
I have a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education from NSU.
I attended the Ron Clark Academy in the spring of 2014. It was an amazing experience that gave me a renewed sense of excitement for teaching.
I started teaching at Jay in 2012. I taught 7th and 8th grade math/algebra my first year. I transferred to 5th grade math for the 2013-14 year.
This will be my 3rd year of teaching. I worked for 12 years at the Delaware County Department of Human Services as an administrative assistant before returning to college to finish my degree in elementary education.
I have a 27 year old son, Andy. Andy graduated from Jay High School in 2005. He then attended University of Arkansas, graduating in 2009 with a degree in Public Administration. He now lives and works in Oklahoma City.
I live on my family farm, raise cattle and several "rescue" dogs.
I live on a farm, raise cattle and provide a home for many "lost" dogs (PLEASE no more!). When I'm not working, I enjoy gardening, reading, hiking and traveling. I love to vacation in the mountains (the Rockies are my favorite!).
